Cale has a Primary Challenge
Primary Wednesday, September 12 — Please Vote!
Rep. Cale P. Keable (D) has been an outspoken opponent of the proposed 1000-megawatt fracked-gas and oil-burning power plant from being built on unspoiled forest land in Burrillville.
Cale was first elected in November 2010, representing District 47 in Burrillville and Glocester. Cale has been very busy during his time in office, and looks forward to continuing as your State Representative.

Cale has chaired the House Judiciary Committee since 2014.
He is a stern voice for Burrillville and Glocester, and has worked with members of the community to advocate for continued funding for Zambarano Hospital; assist those suffering from addiction by better regulating prescription drugs, providing support for addicts, and holding drug dealers who provide lethal doses accountable for deaths; support for reduction of the car tax.
A few of Cale's accomplishments in the House of Representatives include measures to restore the Ethics Commission’s oversight of the General Assembly, approved by the voters in 2016; strengthening the campaign finance system; reforming the state’s lobbying laws; and modernizing voting equipment, establishing on-line voter registration and automatic voter registration at the Division of Motor Vehicles, and eliminating the master lever.
In 2014, under a bill he sponsored, Rhode Island finally ratified the 17th Amendment, which was passed by Congress in 1912 and took effect without Rhode Island’s approval, providing direct election of U.S. Senators, who were previously selected by state legislators in a process that was often corrupt.
In 2012, he cosponsored a bipartisan bill enacted into law that requires a cost-benefit analysis and a periodic review of all regulations impacting small businesses. He also sponsored a successful bill forcing propane sellers to disclose their fees.
Cale is also a former board member of the Industrial Foundation of Burrillville and the Burrillville Schools Alumni Education Foundation Inc.
Representative Keable is an of-counsel litigation attorney at the law firm of Partridge Snow & Hahn LLP in Providence and is a member of the Rhode Island Bar Association.
